What is RTI?
RTI: Response to Instruction and Intervention is designed to empower educators to give every student the opportunity to meet high expectations and the support to reach them. At DES RTI is a 45 minute block of time each day when all students have their individual needs met outside of the core curriculum. Struggling learners (Tier 2 and Tier 3) will be in small skill-based intervention groups. Proficient students (Tier 1) will be doing grade level lessons: enrichment, reteaching, and remediation. All Tennessee elementary schools are using this framework.
